Birthday Wishes is a charitable organization with the mission of providing birthday parties for homeless children. They believe that all children should celebrate their birthdays joyfully, surrounded by family, friends and others who care. Every year they mail their annual card asking for donations, either monetary or in the form of birthday party necessities, accompanied by a "freemium" for the recipient to have.

I, as the art director, and Karina Zack, as the copywriter, created the annual mailer and freebie chosen by Birthday Wishes for production and distribution. Our concept was focused around the idea of a recipe for a perfect birthday. This guided the imagery and content of the card, and led us to creating a recipe card for the freemium with a recipe for the "Perfect Birthday Cake" provided by Montilio's Baking Company.
